Respectful:
  • Use your quiet voice.  There are others learning in the classrooms you are walking by.

Responsible:

  • Before leaving the classroom, let your teacher know where you need to go.  Go directly there.

Cooperative:

  • Remember what you need at specials (gym, art, music, library).  Bring your library book, gym shoes.....whatever you need for this special.

Safe:

  • Remember to be safe with your words and physical actions. (Respect other people's feelings and bodies.)
  • Walk facing forwards and stay to the right.
Respectful:
  • Give people privacy.
  • Continue to use your inside, respectful voice.
  • Keep the area clean for others.

Responsible:

  • Make good decisions about your behavior, even when an adult is not with you.

Cooperative:

  • Go directly to and from the bathroom.  (Someone will be expecting you in class.)

Safe:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water.  (This prevents you from catching the flu.)
  • Report any unsafe behavior to an adult.
Respectful:
  • Let anyone sit next to you.
  • Use a quiet voice and remember good table manners.
  • Be kind to everyone - that's how you make and keep friends!

Responsible:

  • Get all utensils while going through the lunch line.
  • Please don't cut in front of others while waiting in line.
  • Clean up after your lunch.
  • Stay in the cafeteria until you have been dismissed for recess.

Cooperative:

  • Please bring your lunch money or bagged lunch.
  • Bring your outdoor clothing with you to lunch so you can leave for recess after lunch.

Safe:

  • Walk in the cafeteria, even after you have been dismissed for recess!
  • Keep all food and belongings to self.
  • If you have to leave the cafeteria before being dismissed, please let a monitor know where you are going.

Respectful:

  • Keep your network account private - don't share with anyone
  • Respect the work of others - never try to modify the files or data of others
  • Do not intentionally disrupt the use of the district's network or devices attached to it
  • Treat hardware and software with respect
  • Respect copyright laws

Responsible:

  • Use computer network for educational and research purposes only
  • Adult supervision is required when using the network
  • Teacher permission and supervision is needed to access or use email
  • Do not download or install software on any district computer
  • Follow copyright and fair use guidelines when using information from the internet

Cooperative:

  • If one is required, know your login or password
  • Understand your assignment - know the purpose for using the computer
  • Have pencil and paper ready to record information
  • Know how to save to your personal folder

Safe:

  • Never reveal personal information (ie. complete name, address, phone number)
  • Do not access inappropriate web sites of download inappropriate files

Respectful:

  • Be respectful to everyone, even someone you may not like.
  • Be an active listener.... keep eye contact with the speaker and talk to classmates later. Follow directions.

Responsible:

  • Arrive at school on time.
  • If you find the work hard, ask for help.
  • Be honest and admit mistakes.

Cooperative:

  • Get a good nights sleep.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast.
  • Bring appropriate clothing to school.
  • Bring your completed homework back to school.

Safe:

  • Get adults help for accidents and spills.
  • Keep hands, feet and objects to self.
  • Use all equipment and materials appropriately.
  • If you need to leave the classroom for any reason, please let your teacher know.

Respectful:

  • Include everyone.
  • Play fairly - use kind words and actions.
  • If you are having a problem, ask a monitor or Oak Street Peace Maker.

Responsible:

  • Use the bathroom or visit the nurse before going outside.
  • Return sports equipment to the monitor after recess.

Cooperative:

  • Wear outdoor clothing that is appropriate for the weather (boots, mittens, coat and hat in winter).

Safe:

  • Play within playground boundaries.
  • If anyone is hurt or being bullied, report to an adult.
  • No play-fighting (many times it turns into a real fight).
  • Food and candy are to be left inside. (We don't want you to choke).

Respectful:

  • Treat others as you expect to be treated - with respect.

Responsible:

  • If you have difficulty with your school work or are having any trouble at school, talk to your parents or someone you trust. 

Cooperative:

  • Get to be early so you are rested and ready to learn.
  • Have a healthy breakfast.
  • Complete your homework.

Safe:

  • Let your parents know where you are going and who you're with when leaving home.
  • Talk to your parents about safety rules to follow if you are home alone.
  • Remember to wear your helmet when riding your bike or roller blades.
