The Committee on Special Education is in need of parent representation to meet the mandated membership for meetings. This individual must be a parent or guardian of a student with a disabling condition residing in this district. Any parent or individual who is interested in being a parent representative is encouraged to complete the survey and send it back to me.
Responsibilities of a parent representative include being trained on the Committee on Special Education, including the role of the parent member, confidentiality, continuum of services for students with disabilities. A parent member will be asked to attend CSE meetings one or two days a month, if possible. They may also participate in the annual reviews meetings held in the spring. If you are interested in becoming a parent representative, you can contact the building principal of your child’s school or print out this page and send it to Claudine Selzer-Clark at the address above or fax it to 563-5707.
