Mission Statement: Our Vision in the 21st Century

  • Our children will need to develop a commitment to and a constructive use of lifelong learning.
  • Our children must be equipped to think critically, both independently and collaboratively, be productive risk takers, and solve problems effictively in the face of a changing world.
  • Our children will need to respect, practice, and preserve principles of their own culture and other societies of the world.
  • Our children will need the skill to inquire, interpret, and convey information necessary to ensure success in their individual pursuits.
  • Our children will need to consistently make healthful choices that demonstrate respect for their physical, emotional, and social well being.

Mascot: Monty
In 1984 the student body of Momot (formerly Monty Street School) Elementary wanted a mascot. Students submitted drawings and suggestions. When all the suggestions were in the students voted on the one they liked the best.

Monty the Bear was elected as the Mascot of Momot Elementary School.
Monty has a twin, Buddy, who is the Mascot of Bailey Avenue Elementary School.
