Plattsburgh High School Counseling Department - Scholarships
The Women's Press Club of NYS Beryl Spector Memorial Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be pursuing a communications related field of study
- Student must be enrolled in a two or four year college in New York State.
- Clearly demonstrate career goals
- Demonstrate academic achievement, leadership skills, and financial need.
Application Requirements:
- Complete the formal application
- For Part I- please print or type all responses
- Part II- Essay: no more than 500 words, typed, double spaced, and the applicant’s name should appear on each page of the essay.
- A certified transcript that outlines courses taken, grades received, class rank, and standardized test scores.
- A copy of the acceptance letter from the applicant’s college or university. An official verification of registration will be required before the scholarship award will be made.
- Two letters of recommendation. Persons should not be related to the applicant and should be able to comment on the applicant’s character, industriousness, and purposefulness.
