Overview: The initial projects of this course will be an introduction to the types of “real life: challenges that students will eventually receive through the Georgia Pacific, Clarkson University, Plattsburgh High school Partnership. The focus will be for students to work together as a team to solve problems and challenges, to learn to communicate effectively between individuals and among tam members, to learn to manage time and resources efficiently, and to prepare a presentation with an awareness of the audience for which the presentation is intended. Additionally, these units will also focus on the evaluation process as students learn the rudiments of team building and project organization. The ultimate goal of this course, beginning with the first project, is to prepare students for life-long, cooperative working and learning in the work place.

UNIT I The Industrial Technology, Engineering, and Management class focuses on the problem solving process using the vehicle of effective teamwork. The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the concepts, skills and technology they will need to: 1) work effectively in teams to solve problems and 2) present the results of their projects and case studies.
