Overview:An eighty minute block of time per day has been devoted to integrating ninth grade mainstreamed special education students exhibiting significant delays in the areas of reading, writing generalizing, memory, social skills, attention and prior knowledge. The faculty in the classroom consists of one teacher in each of the three fields: English, Global Studies, and Resource Room. This is a literacy-based unit addressing the integration of geography and basic English skills (note taking grammar, sentence construction, paraphrasing and persuasive writing).
