VACATION DESTINATION A mathematics unit focusing on data collection, graphing and statistics

Overview:This is a multi-week unit that is a linking unit for Math 7A and Math 8A. Students will locate a city with the most pleasant weather for taking a vacation. Internet resources are utilized in the collection of data on temperature and weather conditions for locations around the world. Students are to do some preliminary observing of possible vacation cities and choose one of those cities on which to track data. Each student will present the findings in a report containing graphs and a persuasive summary of the findings to indicate why their city should be chosen as the best site.
