Overview:This is a demonstration of a new piece of technology(computerized embroidery) in the clothing and textiles field, which will pique students’ interest and help update the curriculum to the 21st. century. The elective course is twenty weeks, during the fall and spring semesters, at the high school level. The machine will be presented to the entire class, then to small groups. The first student using the machine successfully, with teacher guidance, will be required to guide the next student’s use, until all students have ha the experience of teaching and guiding another student. Guest speakers will be invited from local businesses to further emphasize the employment applications of this type of technology.
