FITNESS FACTS

Overview:Throughout the school year, the p.e. staff will introduce a series of biweekly mini-lectures and learning center activities concerning the body. Students will have the opportunity to explore body systems, muscle groups, and today’s fitness industry. They will then make connections by sharing related experiences and participatingin hands-on activities. Students should be able to demonstrate certain aspects of each lesson, such as setting Physical Best goals, calculating target heart rates, or identifying specific muscles. The students will be responsible for producing a project based on one or more of the fitness fact lessons. Student projects will be self-assessed as well as assessed by their peers using a rubric designed by the P.E. staff.
