An integrated unit unit involving telecommunications, Social Studies, and English

Overview:The main purpose of this unit is to review to historical documents while providing students with additional practice in responding to Document Based Questions (DBQs). The review will emphasize the “evolution of law making - the need for laws, the purposes, who or what was protected, and the eventual use of law to limit government power and protect individual rights. The major documents to be used in this unit are: Hammurabi’s Code, the Justinian Code, the Magna Carta, and the U.S. Bill of Rights.
