Overview:Writing is a process. It is a skill that must be practiced. This is a unit that will allow the classroom teacher to supplement their traditional classroom writing program with tasks and learning experiences aimed at specific student weaknesses. The goal is to focus in n a specific area and to assist the student in developing the skills necessary to become a better reader, thinker, speaker, and learner. The checklist at the beginning of the unit is geared toward use by the teacher to identify specific skills and for parent conferences. The activities can be used to reteach, review or assess a student’s progress.
